Nigerian Woman Reveals Dark Side of Sharing Marital Bliss on Social Media

A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to share a rather surprising observation she has made over the years. In a Facebook post dated Thursday, June 11, 2026, she noted that couples who frequently share their happy moments and memories online often end up breaking up or getting divorced after a few years. She stated, 'I have been on this social media for so long and I have noticed a pattern. Couple that share their happy moments, memories, lifestyle, love online, end up breaking up, divorcing or tearing apart after a few years. It is as if the online happy couples their happiness is short lived.' The woman reflected on her own experience, saying she used to share happy posts about her husband and their marriage, but those were the times they had a high rate of quarrels and misunderstandings. She advised other couples to keep their marriages and families off social media, warning that not every happy comment is genuine and that some people hide behind their keyboards with ill intentions. She cautioned, 'What am I trying to say? Dear happy couple, take your marriage, children and family away from social media, people can’t destroy what they don’t see. Not every happy comment you see is actually happy for you, many are witches behind keypads. Be careful!!!!'
