The Iranian army has issued a stern warning to the United States, stating that any further attacks on the Islamic republic would lead to an escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. This warning comes ahead of a scheduled meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump at the White House. According to army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia, the US would be making a grave mistake if it continues to launch air strikes, as this would geographically expand the conflict. Akraminia made these comments on state television, where he also referenced the recent military clash between Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels and Saudi Arabia in the Bab al-Mandab Strait, which marks the entrance to the Red Sea. The Iranian army spokesman claimed that the conflict has already spread to encompass the entire region, from US bases in Jordan to countries along the Persian Gulf. He noted that the situation in the Middle East is 'difficult and unsettled' for the United States, and predicted that Washington is currently seeking a new strategy. Akraminia added that Iran is prepared for any potential scenario that may arise. Meanwhile, Israel has announced that Netanyahu will meet with Trump at the White House on Tuesday, amidst rising tensions in the region.
