Tinubu's Administration Conflict Death Toll: APC Leader Disputes NOA Figures

A recent interview on Arise TV sparked a heated debate when a presenter, Adesuwa Omuran, cited statistics from the Nigerian Orientation Agency (NOA) regarding conflict-related deaths under President Bola Tinubu's administration. The APC chieftain who appeared on the programme questioned the accuracy of the NOA's data, prompting the presenter to note that similar statistics are available on international monitoring platforms. The APC representative further made a claim that the number of terrorists killed during the current administration surpasses the number of Nigerians abducted or killed within the same period. When asked for the source of this information, the APC chieftain simply said, 'Trust me.' The presenter then proceeded to compare the conflict-related death toll under Tinubu's administration to that of previous administrations, stating that the current numbers are higher. According to the analysis presented, the Tinubu administration has recorded approximately twice the number of conflict-related deaths as the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, and around 10,000 more than those recorded during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
