Federal Hospital Aro Faces Negligence Claims After Nurse's Asthma Death

Full Story
Tragedy has reportedly struck at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, following the death of Nurse Taiwo Godwin Ayodeji. He is said to have succumbed to an asthma attack, with a colleague alleging that medical negligence played a role in his passing.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to SaharaReporters, Ayodeji, a known asthma patient at the facility, was rushed to the hospital after experiencing severe breathing difficulties while playing football. A friend accompanying him stated that Ayodeji was still able to walk into the emergency unit upon their arrival for treatment.
However, the eyewitness claimed that despite being placed on oxygen equipment, the oxygen supply was not activated. “I noticed he was on oxygen, but the oxygen was not put on,” the source explicitly told SaharaReporters.
The source further detailed that by the time the medical team fully attended to Ayodeji, his condition had significantly deteriorated, exhibiting a weak pulse and dilated pupils. It was also alleged that a doctor struggled to access Ayodeji’s vein, and attempts to secure his airway proved unsuccessful before he was ultimately pronounced dead by a medical professional.
Concerns have been amplified by the eyewitness, who alleged that Ayodeji's death marks the second instance this year of a nurse from the same school dying at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro. This has prompted calls for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding these reported fatalities and demands for justice for the deceased. As of now, the authorities of the school have yet to issue a statement regarding these developments.
