Nigerian Woman Recounts Ordeal in 7-Year Marriage to Alleged 'Mummy's Boy'

A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to share her experience in a troubled marriage that lasted for seven years. The woman, who hails from Imo State, was married to a man from Enugu, identified by his surname 'ONOVO', which she is still trying to change in her documents. According to her, the marriage ended because her husband was overly dependent on his mother, doing her bidding without question. In a Facebook post on August 14, 2026, she expressed relief at having escaped the union, stating that she had to leave him to 'marry his mother' due to his behavior. The woman, who is still in the process of changing her surname, reflected on the experience, noting that it was a result of her immaturity at the time. She emphasized the importance of being mentally and emotionally prepared before entering into marriage, hinting that she would share more details about her ordeal when she is emotionally ready.
