A Nigerian woman has sparked a widespread conversation across social media platforms after voicing her strong disapproval of what she perceives as a misguided approach to child-rearing, often masked under the label of "gentle parenting." In a video widely circulated online, she asserted that numerous parents frequently overlook or excuse their children's misbehavior rather than providing necessary correction, thereby burdening others with the consequences in public spaces.

According to her perspective, children who have reached an age where they can comprehend instructions ought to be taught fundamental social etiquette, such as remaining seated, greeting elders respectfully, understanding personal boundaries, and complying with simple directives. She went on to describe children who lack these basic behavioral controls as "untrained," adding that parents who cannot manage their offspring's conduct should refrain from bringing them to social gatherings.

She shared a personal anecdote to buttress her point, recalling an an incident at a hair salon where another customer's child repeatedly touched her mobile phone, with the mother allegedly making no effort to intervene or stop the behavior. In stark contrast, the lady commended her two-year-old neighbor, noting that the child already exhibits respectful greetings towards adults, even kneeling as a sign of deference. This, she argued, serves as clear evidence that good manners and discipline can be effectively instilled in children from their earliest years.
