Influencer Uyi Godson Refutes N100 Million Fraud Claims from Business Partner IsokoBoy

Prominent businessman and social media personality, Uyi Godson Agho, widely known as Godson, has vehemently denied accusations of defrauding fellow influencer Clement Akpobome Ogudu, also known as IsokoBoy (ISB), of N100 million. The controversy ignited following the widespread circulation of a video online, which purportedly showed Godson pleading over the disputed funds. This footage, alleged to depict physical assault, intimidation, and a private interrogation, sparked considerable public reaction across social media platforms.
In response to the unfolding incident, Godson, through his legal counsel, C. C. Ezenwa, Esq., submitted a petition to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command. In his petition, Godson firmly asserted that the matter was purely a business disagreement, which had been intentionally misconstrued and presented as a case of fraud.
According to the details outlined in the petition, Godson and IsokoBoy were partners in a clothing venture estimated to be worth approximately N320 million. Godson stated that during a business trip to China, he withdrew N16.5 million from their joint business account to procure goods. He further clarified that these products were already en route to Nigeria when the dispute between the partners first began.
Godson also alleged that IsokoBoy, accompanied by Victory Osadolor, Godwin Isiah Peter, Jakpa Emmanuel Tesimi (popularly known as Alavin), and others, forcibly entered his residence. During this encounter, they secretly recorded him while he was unclothed, subsequently circulating the video online alongside claims that he had defrauded his business associate. He further suggested that a prior disagreement with Godwin Isiah Peter, also known as Richie, might have motivated Peter to widely disseminate the video in an attempt to damage his reputation.
Elaborating on his version of the events, Godson explained that the N320 million represented the total proceeds from their clothing business, which was intended for equal distribution between them. He maintained that after taking N16.5 million for a new business investment, he expected IsokoBoy to deduct an equivalent sum from the joint funds before they proceeded to share the remaining balance. Godson remarked, “I believe there was no need to come with mutual friends for a matter like this. The business in question was worth N320 million. I had just taken N16.5 million from the proceeds. The entire goods are still with IsokoBoy. What he ought to do was to take the same share as I had taken, and we share the remaining balance equally. The social media posts and the attack on my person were needless.”
He further reflected on the nature of business relationships, stating, “Business is about trust and understanding. I never in my wildest imagination thought someone I considered my business partner would go this far. But then, life is a lesson. Even if a business relationship goes sour, there are legal ways to resolve the dispute.”
Godson additionally claimed that despite assuring his business partner of his intention to refund the money into their joint account by Friday of that same week, the controversial video was still released online. He reiterated, “To ensure our partnership continues, I even agreed to pay back the money into our business account that same Friday, yet they went ahead to post lies about me.”
The petition concluded with Godson urging the police authorities to thoroughly investigate the allegations and ensure the prosecution of anyone found to be culpable.
