CDCFIB Flags Fake News on NSCDC, NIS, NCoS Recruitment Postponement

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has publicly rejected a fraudulent press statement currently circulating on digital platforms, which falsely alleges a delay in its scheduled 2026 recruitment processes. Through an official announcement shared on its X (formerly Twitter) account this past Sunday, the board prominently marked the deceptive document with a large red 'FAKE' watermark. The CDCFIB strongly advised all potential candidates and the wider populace to ignore the spurious information.
The fabricated notice, which appeared to originate from the CDCFIB’s Office of the Secretary, falsely stated that 'the 2026 recruitment exercises had been postponed due to administrative rearrangements.' It further instructed applicants to 'wait until November 2026 for further details and advised them not to pay any fees to individuals or groups promising early access.' Additionally, the misleading communiqué pointed hopefuls towards the official portal, recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng. Nevertheless, the CDCFIB unequivocally clarified that this document did not originate from its office.
This crucial alert follows approximately one week after the board had publicly unveiled the names of successful candidates from the November 2025 online Computer-Based Test recruitment phase. The CDCFIB had previously announced that these successful individuals are expected to advance to the subsequent stage, with medical screening slated to begin on June 22, 2026. The ongoing recruitment initiative is designed for individuals seeking career opportunities within the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
