Hollywood A-Listers Hit by Massive Data Leak, Tribeca Film Festival Impacted

A significant data breach has been uncovered, affecting several prominent Hollywood stars, including Angelina Jolie and Robert De Niro. According to cybersecurity expert Jeremiah Fowler, the leak is one of the largest of its kind, involving the exposure of personal contact information of numerous celebrities. The breach is linked to the Tribeca Film Festival, which was co-founded by Robert De Niro. Fowler discovered that three publicly accessible databases connected to the festival had been compromised, resulting in the exposure of phone numbers and private email addresses of several well-known figures in the entertainment industry. 'There were many, many household names in the records who could have been targeted with malware,' Fowler stated. 'There were names, phone numbers and email addresses.' The list of affected individuals includes filmmaker Martin Scorsese, Star Wars creator George Lucas, actors Neil Patrick Harris, Rami Malek, Sharon Stone, and Michael Douglas, as well as British director Danny Boyle. Fowler noted that the breach is particularly concerning due to the high level of privacy typically maintained by these individuals. 'It's really unique because these individuals are so guarded and they protect their personal privacy, their contacts, their phone numbers,' he said. After identifying the exposed databases, Fowler contacted the Tribeca Film Festival, which subsequently removed the information from public access. The organisation is currently investigating the matter, with a legal executive stating that they are 'actively investigating this issue.' A source revealed that the majority of the leaked contact details belonged to managers and agents rather than the celebrities themselves. The Tribeca Film Festival has yet to publicly comment on the reported breach, and there is no indication that the exposed information was accessed or misused before the databases were secured.
