Dangote Refinery has once more adjusted its gantry price for petrol across the country, bringing it down to N1,125 per litre from the previous N1,175. This marks a N50 reduction in the petrol gantry price.

Confirming the development on Thursday, June 25, Anthony Chijiena, the spokesperson for Dangote Group, stated, “It is true our petrol gantry price was reduced by N50 per litre.”

In a related move, the refinery also saw a decrease in its coastal petrol supply price, which dropped from N1,495,215 per metric tonne to N1,428,165 per metric tonne. This latest adjustment by Dangote Refinery is attributed to a significant decline in global crude oil prices, which have now settled between $69 and $73 per barrel, mirroring rates observed before the recent Middle East crisis.

Nigerians will recall that the Dangote Refinery had previously lowered its gantry petrol price by N75 per litre on June 16. That initial reduction subsequently led to a nationwide decrease in retail fuel prices within days. With this latest price cut, the total reduction by Dangote Refinery over the past two weeks, since global crude prices began to ease, now stands at N125 per litre.

Currently, retail fuel prices in Abuja and its surrounding areas range from N1,241 to N1,305 per litre. However, there is a strong public demand for further reductions, with many Nigerians hoping to see retail fuel prices fall to approximately N800 to N900 per litre, a level last seen before the escalation of the Iran-United States-Israel conflict on February 28, 2026.

Editor's Take

Dangote Refinery don cut fuel price again, say na because crude oil don drop. Dis one good for Nigerians wey dey vex for high cost of living. We go dey watch if other marketers go follow suit and if dis price go remain stable.
