A devastating school shooting occurred at the Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Nonthaburi province, Thailand, on Friday, August 7. The incident began when a 14-year-old boy allegedly killed his grandparents at their home before proceeding to the school, where he opened fire on students and teachers. According to local police, the teenage gunman used a 9mm firearm, which is believed to have belonged to his grandfather. The shooter was found with at least 34 additional ammunition rounds. Emergency worker Kiatikhun Verapongpradith confirmed that students had been shot during the attack, with injuries to the chest, back, and arms. The Ministry of Health reported that 22 people were hospitalized following the incident. A video from the scene shows students hiding under tables and whimpering in fear as the teenage gunman stalks the hallway outside the classrooms. A female eighth grader from the school recounted her experience, stating that she was standing in front of one of the teachers when they got shot. The suspected shooter, who was an avid gamer, turned the gun on himself and died on the way to the hospital.
