Polygamy and promiscuity are not synonymous - Former Benue police spokesperson says
Former spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, CSP Anene Sewuese Catherine, has stated that polygamy and promiscuity are two different things. Anene stated this in a Facebook post on Friday, May 22, 2026 amid the ongoing cheating scandal. According to the officer, who hails from Benue, polygamy is part of her culture. She suggested that a man legally marrying multiple wives doesn't mean he is promiscuous. “Polygamy and promiscuity are not synonymous. Make una no interpret my culture wrongly please,” she wrote.
