Solomon Buchi Tackles Men on Monthly Upkeep Demands from Non-Wives

Full Story
Social commentator Solomon Buchi has voiced strong disapproval against Nigerian men who engage in discussions with their female companions, who are not their wives, about providing them with monthly financial support or "upkeep" allowances. Buchi's comments were prompted by a widely circulated video featuring a woman who stated her requirement of a minimum of ₦500,000 per month for her personal maintenance from a potential boyfriend.
Reacting sharply to the content of the video, Buchi lambasted men who entertain such financial negotiations. He asserted that any man participating in these types of discussions exhibits a profound lack of self-respect, suggesting that they might not have received adequate affection or "love at home." Furthermore, Buchi contended that women who approach romantic partnerships as opportunities to negotiate for financial stipends are essentially engaging in a form of "pr*stitution." He issued a stern caution to men, advising them to completely avoid such financially transactional relationship models.
