Plateau Farmer Detained After Confronting Herder Over Farm Destruction

In Kwanga village, located within the Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, a farmer identified as Mr. Caleb Bulus has been taken into custody following an altercation with a herder, Abubakar Abdullahi. The incident, which occurred around 4:45 p.m. on September 25, 2026, reportedly stemmed from a dispute over alleged damage to Mr. Bulus's farm crops.
According to information obtained from security sources by Zagazola Makama, military personnel from Sector 1, Sub-Sector 12, promptly responded to reports of the assault. The herder, Abubakar Abdullahi, sustained injuries during the scuffle and was subsequently transported to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) to receive urgent medical attention.
Mr. Bulus, the farmer implicated in the assault, was arrested by the security forces. He has since been handed over to the Keystone Authority in Jos, where he will undergo further investigation and face appropriate legal action. Security operatives indicated that the situation is being closely monitored to prevent the isolated incident from escalating into broader communal unrest within the affected area.
