Nigerian Tech Recruiter in Canada Faces Human Trafficking, S£x Charges

Canadian law enforcement authorities have taken a Nigerian tech recruiter into custody in Canada, following accusations of human trafficking and s£xual offences. Ebunoluwa Tomiwa, who is also known by the alias 'Boon', was apprehended after voluntarily presenting himself to the Hamilton Police Service, hours after they had issued a warrant for his arrest.

In a statement confirming the development, the Hamilton Police announced, "Hamilton Police have arrested Ebunoluwa Tomiwa after he turned himself into Police earlier this morning. Tomiwa will be appearing in court for a bail hearing." The 33-year-old, whose LinkedIn profile identifies him as a tech recruiter with TEKsystems, now faces several serious charges.

The police further detailed the specific allegations against him, stating, “Ebunoluwa Tomiwa, 33 years old, of Belleville was arrested for the following charges; Trafficking in Persons, Procuring for S£xual Services, Material Benefit – Trafficking of Persons and Withholding Documents.”

Investigators from the Hamilton Police Service suspect that there could be more individuals who have been harmed by the suspect. They are actively encouraging anyone with relevant information, or those who believe they may have been victimized, to step forward and engage with the investigation team. “Investigators believe there may be additional victims and encourage anyone who may have information, or who believes they may have been victimized, to come forward and speak with investigators,” the police added in their appeal.
