Borno: Five Suspects Nabbed as Troops Foil Terr*rist Supply Chain

Operatives from the 3 Battalion (Motorised) have successfully apprehended five individuals and intercepted a significant cache of supplies believed to be designated for terr*rist couriers and vendors. This targeted operation took place in the Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State.

The military action was executed around 5:35 p.m. on August 28, 2026, specifically targeting the Ladari and Gamboru Garage areas within Gamboru-Ngala. During the sweep, Ali Dala, 35, was taken into custody in Ladari. Subsequently, four additional suspects were arrested at Gamboru Garage; they include Babagana Amarja, 41; Garba Mohammed, 37; Abdullahi Mohammed, 53; and Mado Ali, 39.

Troops also seized several vehicles and various logistics items suspected of being prepared for delivery to terr*rist elements operating in Gamboru and its neighbouring communities. The confiscated vehicles comprise a white Volkswagen Golf 3 wagon with registration number A877 DKW, a black Golf 3 wagon bearing registration number ACA 787 AAC, a red Golf 3 wagon with registration number GAS 35, and a brown Vendon saloon car registered as KBG 14 XA.

Further recoveries included eight jerrycans filled with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and a sack containing an assortment of medicines, cleverly concealed within a sack of charcoal. All arrested suspects and the recovered items are presently in the custody of the 3 Battalion, where they await further investigation and necessary legal proceedings.

This operation is an integral part of the ongoing efforts by military personnel to dismantle terr*rist logistics and supply networks across the region. The overall security situation in the theatre remains stable but unpredictable, while the morale and operational efficiency of the troops are reported to be satisfactory.
