Troops Save Motorcycle Theft Suspect from Plateau Mob Justice

Military personnel from Sector 5, Sub-Sector 51, successfully intervened in an incident at Daffo Market, located in Plateau State's Bokkos Local Government Area, preventing an angry crowd from carrying out jungle justice on an individual accused of stealing a motorcycle.

The event unfolded on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, around 5:20 p.m., after authorities received an alert concerning a stolen motorcycle within the market premises. Upon receiving the distress call, the soldiers promptly mobilized and, reaching the scene, discovered the alleged thief being held by an enraged populace, poised to lynch him.

The military unit quickly de-escalated the volatile situation and extracted the individual, who had suffered various injuries during the confrontation. Following his rescue, he was transported to a medical facility for urgent treatment.
