Gang Murders Teenager Over False £100k Testicle Black Market Claim

Police authorities have disclosed that a criminal group brutally murdered a 17-year-old boy and subsequently harvested his testicles, driven by the erroneous belief that these organs could fetch a sum of £100,000. Investigations reveal that the gang's actions were instigated by a social media video disseminating a baseless rumour regarding the lucrative value of human testicles.
The victim, identified only as Rehan, was reportedly enticed to a secluded location where he was fatally stabbed by the assailants. Law enforcement in India confirmed that following the gruesome act, Rehan's testicles were preserved in ice as the gang attempted to locate a purchaser on the illicit market willing to pay the substantial amount. Detectives probing the heinous crime have apprehended the primary suspect, 20-year-old business student Zoheb Khan, along with alleged accomplice Aamir Qureshi, 18. Additionally, three minors have been taken into custody.
Investigators allege that Khan was instrumental in recruiting the group, convincing them that human testicles could command approximately 12 million Indian rupees (equivalent to about £92,465) on the black market, particularly within the Gulf region. Furthermore, they claim Khan masqueraded as a medical doctor to persuade his associates of his ability to surgically remove the organs. He reportedly purchased a white apron, stethoscope, and thermometer online, which he then used while instructing the group.
Rehan, a street vendor, was lured to his death site on August 6 when two young individuals approached his stall, offering him 100 rupees (around 77p) to assist them in a staged altercation. Ayush Gupta, the deputy commissioner of police in Bhopal, stated that four of the accused actively participated in the murder, with Khan providing guidance via a video call.
After their attempts to sell the harvested organs proved unsuccessful, Khan allegedly instructed the group to discard them in different lakes. Police recovered Rehan's body from Lower Lake near Dhobi Ghat on August 10. He was identified through a tattoo, five days after his mother had reported him missing. A post-mortem examination confirmed that he sustained fatal injuries and that his testicles had indeed been removed.
Authorities have since retrieved the blade believed to have been used in the murder and have deployed divers to search the waters for the missing organs. Santosh Patel, Bhopal's assistant commissioner of police, acknowledged that the search would be challenging, with officers largely dependent on the suspects to reveal the disposal locations. Investigators are also questioning individuals whom the gang purportedly approached as potential buyers, seeking to ascertain if any sale arrangements were made.
