In a major breakthrough, the Nigeria Police Force, in collaboration with the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) in Abuja, has successfully apprehended and repatriated a Chadian national named Mahadijiria Abdoulaye. Abdoulaye was wanted in connection with the gruesome murder of Nazik Mahamat Saleh, which occurred on May 3, 2026. The victim was allegedly tortured and killed, prompting the Court of Appeal in N'Djamena to issue an international warrant of arrest for Abdoulaye and her accomplice, Fatime Senoussi Mouktar, on June 22, 2026. Following a coordinated intelligence operation, operatives of the INTERPOL NCB Abuja tracked down and arrested Abdoulaye on August 5, 2026, at Railway Quarters, Nasarawa Local Government Area, Kano State. The suspect, who is also linked to narcotics trafficking activities in Chad, had fled to Nigeria after the incident. According to the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, CSP Ani Iniedu, Abdoulaye was successfully repatriated to N'Djamena, Chad, on August 14, 2026, through Lomé, Togo, under established bilateral police cooperation arrangements. The operation was conducted in close collaboration with INTERPOL NCB N'Djamena to facilitate Abdoulaye's return to Chad to face the judicial process. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, commended the operatives of INTERPOL NCB Abuja for their professionalism, diligence, and effective coordination with their Chadian counterparts, stating that the successful arrest and repatriation reflect the Force's commitment to ensuring that fugitives do not evade justice by crossing international borders.
