Kano State Launches 'Operation Kano First' to Combat Immorality

In an effort to curb immoral activities within the state, the Kano Hisbah Board has initiated a comprehensive operation tagged 'Operation Kano First'. This development comes shortly after Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf donated 10 operational vehicles and 50 motorcycles to the board, aimed at bolstering its operational capabilities. According to the Deputy Commander-General of the board, Mujahid Aminuddeen, the operation is designed to apprehend individuals engaging in various forms of immorality across the state. Aminuddeen warned that those found guilty of such acts would face the full wrath of the law, emphasizing the board's commitment to promoting moral conduct and enforcing Sharia-related laws. The operation, which commenced on Thursday, August 13, 2026, has seen Hisbah officials patrol major roads in Kano, with plans to continue this effort in the coming days. The Kano State Government-established Hisbah Board is mandated to enforce Sharia laws, mediate disputes, and promote moral behavior among the populace.
