Kaduna Community Mourns as Bandits Strike PoS Shop, Claim Three Lives

A devastating attack on a Point of Sale shop in the Galadimawa community, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has left three people dead and two others injured. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at approximately 4:30 pm, sent shockwaves throughout the community. According to eyewitnesses, the suspected bandits arrived on two motorcycles, armed with AK-47 rifles, and made their way directly to the PoS shop. Upon arrival, they opened fire on unsuspecting individuals, resulting in the deaths of Alhaji Hassan Abdullahi, Yakubu Muazu, and Magaji Sarauta. Two others, Aliyu Rufai and Umar Mohammed, sustained gunshot injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The bandits, after wreaking havoc, made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. Residents, in the aftermath of the attack, have appealed to the Kaduna State Government to deploy additional security personnel, particularly soldiers, to the area to prevent future occurrences. The community has expressed concern over the increasing vulnerability of the town due to the displacement of neighboring communities by repeated bandit attacks. A community leader, speaking anonymously, emphasized the need for enhanced security measures to protect the lives and properties of residents.
