Amotekun Corps Saves Two Fulani Herdsmen from Kidnappers in Ondo

In a daring operation, the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, successfully rescued two young Fulani herders who were abducted by suspected kidnappers. The victims, Abubakar Umaru and Abdullahi Umaru, were tending to their cattle in the Owo area of the state when they were taken away. The state Commander of the corps, Adetunji Adeleye, revealed that the operatives swung into action after the parents of the victims reported that their children had not returned home with their cattle. According to Adeleye, 'The briefing today is unique, in the sense that out of the hundreds of rescued victims, we singled out this particular situation where two Fulani boys were kidnapped and their cattle rescued in Owo Local Government.' The Amotekun corps was able to retrieve all the cows and later tracked down the kidnappers, rescuing the two boys in the process. The kidnappers fled upon realizing that they were surrounded by security operatives. Adeleye commended the residents for providing timely intelligence that aided the operation, stressing that the agency does not discriminate against any ethnic group. He stated, 'A criminal from Yoruba, from Igbo, from Hausa, or from Fulani is a criminal. We treat them as such.' This recent operation is a testament to the agency's commitment to protecting all residents of Ondo State, regardless of their ethnicity.
