Joint Rescue Effort Underway for Abducted Oyo Farmer, Mathew Owoade

In a swift response to the reported abduction of a farmer in Oyo State, the police command has initiated a collaborative security operation to rescue the victim. Mr. Mathew Owoade, the abducted farmer, was last seen on his farm along the Igbojaye–Budo Aare Farm Road. His family began searching for him when he failed to return home, and their efforts led to the discovery of his Bajaj motorcycle at the farm. The police were informed after the victim's mobile phone was used to contact his family, with the caller disclosing that he had been abducted. The Oyo State Police Command has clarified that the abduction occurred on the farm, contrary to some reports suggesting it happened within a school premises. The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, has deployed a joint rescue team comprising police operatives, Amotekun Corps personnel, local vigilantes, and hunters to the area. The team is conducting an intensive search of the surrounding forests to locate the victim. The operation has been reinforced with the Command's Anti-Kidnapping Squad and other tactical units. The police are working in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure the safe rescue of the victim and the apprehension of those responsible for the abduction. The Commissioner has assured residents of the command's commitment to combating kidnapping and other violent crimes in the state, urging the public to remain calm and provide timely and credible information to support ongoing security operations.
