A heart-wrenching video has surfaced of a young boy from Magami town in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State, recounting the brutal murder of his father by bandits. The boy, identified as Umar, shared his traumatic experience in an emotional interview, revealing that he intends to join the Nigerian Army when he grows up to avenge his father's death. Umar's story began with a description of his hometown, Magami, and a village called Elota, where he resides. He then delved into the circumstances surrounding his father's killing, which has left an indelible mark on his life. According to Umar, his father had returned home after harvesting seven baskets of red peppers and went to the market to buy foodstuffs, including rice for the family. However, his father's plans to cook a meal for the family were thwarted when he was attacked and killed by bandits. Umar recounted the horror of watching his father being killed, stating that the bandits forced their way into their house and attacked everyone. The young boy's ambition to become a soldier stems from his desire to take revenge for his father's death. In the interview, Umar expressed his intention to join the army, saying, 'I have the intention of taking revenge.' The interviewer responded, 'So you want revenge? May God grant you success.' Umar's story is a reflection of the devastating impact of banditry in Zamfara State, which has been plagued by repeated attacks on communities, resulting in killings, kidnappings, and displacement of residents. The state's North-West region has been one of the most affected areas, with many families torn apart by the violence. Umar's determination to join the army and seek revenge for his father's death is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
