A recent assault along the Okoloke–Isanlu Esa thoroughfare in the Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State has reportedly led to the deaths of two individuals and the abduction of at least five others. Sources from the community informed SaharaReporters that the incident took place on Tuesday morning, causing significant alarm among residents and commuters as heavily armed assailants ambushed travellers on the route.

According to these local sources, two people were confirmed deceased during the attack, while a minimum of five others were forcibly taken by the gunmen to an undisclosed location. "The attack happened this morning. So far, two people have been confirmed killed and about five others were kidnapped. Some people are still unaccounted for, and families are searching for their loved ones," a community informant disclosed to SaharaReporters.

Residents expressed heightened anxiety within the affected communities, where incidents of kidnapping and attacks by armed groups have become a persistent security concern. The Okoloke–Isanlu Esa axis serves as a critical link connecting several communities in Yagba West, and commuters have frequently voiced their worries regarding insecurity and the activities of kidnappers operating from the surrounding forests.

At the time of this report, security operatives had reportedly been notified and were said to be mobilizing to the site of the attack, although specific details concerning any rescue operations remained scarce.
