Breaking: Boyfriend's Death: Kano Police Detain Popular TikToker Fati Cele

Authorities in Kano State have taken into custody popular TikTok personality, Fati Cele, in connection with the passing of her boyfriend, Isma’il Makaye. The incident occurred at her private residence within Kano.

CSP Abdullahi Haruna, the Public Relations Officer for the command, verified this occurrence to The PUNCH through a WhatsApp message dispatched on Saturday. While confirming the detention, Haruna refrained from disclosing additional specifics, citing the active nature of the police investigation. He stated, “Yes, it’s true, the TikToker is currently being detained over the death of her boyfriend, Isma’il Makaye.”

Ms. Cele, originally from Borno State, resides in a rented flat located in Kano’s Danbare district and boasts a substantial online presence with over 32,000 followers on the popular social media platform, TikTok.

An anonymous individual, identified as being close to the late Makaye, alleged that the TikTok celebrity raised a distress call from her home, reporting a fire incident. This same source indicated that Makaye was swiftly transported to Nassarawa Hospital for medical attention, where he unfortunately passed away.

Subsequently, law enforcement personnel from the Dorayi Babba Police Division apprehended Cele, bringing her in for questioning as part of the ongoing inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the event. Makaye, who earned his living as a cosmetics trader and resided in Kano’s Hotoro Tishama area, was laid to rest at Unguwa Uku Yan Awaki following the release of his body to his relatives for funeral ceremonies, as confirmed by those associated with his family.
