Plateau Community Mourns as Gunmen Claim Life of Local Resident

In a disturbing turn of events, the lifeless body of a man identified as Mr. Dasharo Haruna was discovered by troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) along the Butura Kampani–Mandung road in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. The incident occurred on June 15, 2026, after the troops from Sector 5, Bokkos, responded to a report of a suspicious object at about 9:45 a.m. Upon arrival, the troops found the corpse of the deceased, who was later identified as a resident of Maihakorin Gold Village in Bokkos Local Government Area. Following the discovery, the Keystone Bokkos Division took charge of evacuating the body for further procedures. Authorities have since commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the killing, with the area now secured and efforts underway to prevent any further breakdown of law and order.
