Pastor Harrison Anazodo Arrested Over Wife-Snatching Allegations, 11 Babies Recovered

The Anambra State Government has taken a pastor into custody over allegations of engaging in illicit activities, including snatching married women from their husbands and forcing church members to swap wives. Pastor Harrison Charles Anazodo, who is in charge of Day Spring Assembly in Awada, Onitsha, was apprehended by operatives of Agunechemba on Friday, June 12, 2026. This action was prompted by viral videos that surfaced online, containing several allegations against the cleric. During the arrest, the authorities discovered about 11 babies in his possession, which he claimed were his children from 11 of his wives. However, he was unable to provide the total number of wives he has married or the total number of children he has. A woman, who has not been identified, appeared in one of the videos circulating online, accusing the pastor of various forms of misconduct, including interfering in marriages, marrying underage girls, and using charms to deceive church members. 'It’s important now that Governor Soludo is arresting fake pastors, to quickly launch an investigation into the church because a lot of evil is going on in the church,' she said. Dr Ejimofor Opara, the Special Adviser on Media to the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, confirmed the arrest and stated that the suspect is currently being investigated by the police in collaboration with the state government. The authorities are urging anyone with information about the pastor’s alleged activities to come forward and provide relevant testimony to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Security, Ken Emeakayi. The investigation is ongoing, and the state government is working to uncover the truth behind the allegations against Pastor Anazodo.
