Plateau State Witnesses Arrest of Three Suspects Linked to Fatal Attack on Young Man

A joint operation conducted by troops of Sector 6 of Operation Enduring Peace and a Department of State Services Operations team has led to the apprehension of three individuals in connection with the tragic death of 25-year-old Daniel Danladi Choki. The deceased was fatally attacked in Tanjol village, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, on May 18, 2026. Following the incident, security forces launched a thorough manhunt, which involved a cordon-and-search operation in neighbouring Fulani settlements of Luggere and Fass between May 19 and May 20. The operation resulted in the arrest of Umar Musa, 65, Danjuma Mati, 15, and Abdullahi Nora, 67, at Luggere Fulani hamlet. Several residents fled to nearby high grounds upon sighting the troops. The arrested suspects are currently undergoing interrogation to assist security agencies in identifying those directly responsible for the killing. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to restore peace and prevent retaliatory attacks in vulnerable communities across Riyom LGA.
