19 Communities in Jigawa, Bauchi to Benefit from $4m Solar Power Project

A significant boost for renewable energy access in Nigeria has seen All On and Energise Africa jointly inject $4 million into solar-powered mini-grid projects. This investment targets 19 communities spread across Jigawa and Bauchi states, aiming to enhance electricity supply. The implementation of this crucial initiative falls to Maskh Nigeria Limited, an indigenous firm renowned for its expertise across renewable energy, construction, engineering, electrification, and procurement services.

According to a statement released on Monday, Caroline Eboumbou, the Chief Executive Officer of All On, highlighted the project's objective to deliver dependable, cost-effective, and sustainable electricity to homes, commercial ventures, and public facilities presently lacking consistent power. Ms. Eboumbou further explained that this investment, part of the Demand Aggregation for Renewable Energy Technology Programme, is projected to positively affect roughly 100,000 individuals. It is also set to foster local business growth, improve access to vital services, and lessen reliance on conventional energy sources.

Eboumbou stated, “For communities across Jigawa and Bauchi where energy access remains limited, decentralised energy infrastructure can play an important role in enabling economic and social activity. Through the deployment of solar-powered mini-grids, the project will extend reliable electricity to homes, schools, health facilities and small businesses, while creating opportunities for productive use of energy and strengthening local economies. Energy access is not simply about connecting communities to electricity; it is about creating the conditions for people and businesses to thrive. This investment demonstrates All On’s commitment to backing indigenous energy companies that can deliver practical, scalable solutions to some of Nigeria’s most persistent energy access challenges.
