Lafarge Africa Plc has embarked on a fresh phase, officially revealing its new corporate identity and adopting the name HBM Nigeria Plc. This strategic shift represents a major landmark in the firm's ongoing transformation and aligns with its updated shareholder framework. The renaming to HBM Nigeria Plc underscores the company's continuous development as a top-tier building solutions provider in Nigeria, integrating its deep local presence with strengthened global industrial partnerships. The company has assured stakeholders that this name modification will have no bearing on its operations, staff, clientele, shareholders, or its steadfast dedication to fostering Nigeria's economic expansion and infrastructure advancement.

Commenting on this significant transition, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, stated that the new identity heralds a progressive era for the firm, propelled by a focus on operational excellence, innovation, sustainability, and creating enduring value. Alade-Akinyemi articulated, "HBM Nigeria Plc signifies an exciting new chapter in our journey as a prominent building solutions enterprise. Even as our corporate identity undergoes transformation, our dedication to Nigeria stands firm. Our core focus remains on providing superior cement, concrete, aggregates, and groundbreaking building solutions that bolster infrastructure development, housing expansion, and industrialization. This change prepares us for the future while reinforcing the principles of excellence, sustainability, customer satisfaction, and ethical business conduct that have characterized our heritage for many decades."

He further clarified that the shift to HBM Nigeria Plc will be rolled out systematically and in phases across all the company's facilities nationwide. He also assured that employees, customers, shareholders, investors, host communities, and other key stakeholders can anticipate uninterrupted business operations, continued investments throughout the nation, and an intensified commitment to generating long-term economic and social benefits.

The Chairman of HBM Nigeria Plc, Gbenga Oyebode, noted in his address that this transition is intended to secure the company's lasting success while upholding the core values and principles that have defined its history for decades. Conveying the Board's strong belief in the newly adopted corporate identity, Oyebode stated, "I wish to extend my profound gratitude to our shareholders for their unwavering confidence, to the Board and Management for their exceptional leadership, and to our dedicated employees whose diligence and commitment consistently propel the company forward. We are convinced that HBM Nigeria Plc will persist in generating sustainable value for shareholders, reinforcing stakeholder trust, and achieving its long-term objectives."

Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, also spoke at the ceremony, commending HBM Nigeria Plc (previously Lafarge Africa Plc) for its substantial input into Nigeria's infrastructure growth through the execution of numerous significant projects nationwide. Emphasizing the company's support for the Federal Government's infrastructure initiatives, he remarked, "I can talk about Lafarge for a whole day because we have come a long way. Though the company is very strict and of high integrity, I can say that their products are impeccable." Among the notable personalities present at the unveiling were the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon Peter Odey; Adekunle Olayinka, representing the Lagos State Governor; and Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, representing the Ogun State Governor.

The gathering also saw the attendance of various other dignitaries, including government officials, traditional rulers from Cross River, Gombe, and Ogun States, former and current board members, the company's executive committee, prominent industry leaders, and many others.

Although the corporate identity has been officially altered, the implementation of operational integration, branding materials, and public-facing communications will proceed in stages across all platforms to guarantee uniformity, continuous business operations, and a smooth transition for every stakeholder involved.
