Guinness Nigeria's Orijin Reinforces Commitment to Osun-Osogbo Cultural Heritage

With the 2026 Osun-Osogbo Cultural Festival drawing closer, Guinness Nigeria Plc has once again confirmed its dedication to promoting and honouring Nigeria’s diverse cultural heritage. This commitment is being channelled through Orijin, the company’s leading mainstream spirits brand. The affirmation came during the Osun-Osogbo Global Summit 2026 Press Conference, which took place in Osogbo, Osun State, in anticipation of the yearly festival slated for July 27 to August 7, 2026.
A statement released by the company highlighted, "As a business at the forefront of culture-driven experiences, Guinness Nigeria continues to use Orijin as a platform to bring culture to life in contemporary and meaningful ways connecting tradition with modern expression and engaging new generations." Rotimi Odusola, the Corporate Relations and Legal Director for Guinness Nigeria Plc, elaborated on this collaboration, stating that the company's backing for the festival underscores a strategic emphasis on fostering connections and enhancing appeal by utilising cultural platforms and partnerships, all while contributing to sustainable socio-economic growth.
Mr. Odusola further asserted, “At Guinness Nigeria, we recognize culture as one of our most valuable national assets — not only to be preserved, but to be lived and experienced today. Through Orijin, a brand inspired by our roots and reimagined for the present, we continue to champion platforms like the Osun-Osogbo Festival that bring people together, celebrate identity, and showcase the richness of Nigerian culture to the world.” He also pointed out that Orijin’s ongoing participation in the festival demonstrates its singular capacity to resonate profoundly with the core values, genuine spirit, and evolving manifestations of the Osun-Osogbo celebration.
The 2026 festival edition carries the theme “Preserving Heritage, Inspiring the Future,” which highlights the shared duty to protect cultural traditions and ensure their ongoing significance for generations to come. Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, whose representative was the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Abiodun Bankole, lauded Guinness Nigeria and its Orijin brand for their unwavering support and emphasised the increasing economic importance of the festival.
Bankole stated, “The festival cannot be sustained by the government alone. We need the support of corporate organisations because it represents a major cultural and economic investment opportunity for Osun State and Nigeria.” Similarly, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, commended Guinness Nigeria's contributions via Orijin and urged increased involvement from the private sector in cultural tourism initiatives.
Globally acknowledged as a UNESCO-inscribed cultural gem, the Osun-Osogbo Festival has developed over six centuries to become one of Africa’s most renowned cultural events. The upcoming 2026 iteration is projected to draw more than 500,000 attendees from within Nigeria and globally, thereby solidifying Osun State’s standing as a premier cultural tourism hub.
