Tenant accuses landlord's sons of assaulting him and his wife in Delta

A Delta resident, Frederick Kanayo, has accused his landlord's sons of assaulting him and his wife over house rent. Kanayo, who narrated his ordeal in a Facebook post on Saturday, June 6, 2026 said the incident occurred 15 days after his rent expired. According to him, one of the landlord's sons slapped his wife and when he tried to intervene, the other one used a big stone to strike him on the head. “My name is Frederick Kanayo, I 'm from Imo state. I ‘m based in Delta State, in Asaba, precisely in Okpanam, at one Mr Okonkwo’s compound. 15 days passed renewing of my rent, his two sons and his wife came to my domot, and took law into their own hands,” he wrote. "One of the sons slapped my wife. Then I came down the pavement, not to fight them but just to separate them, the other son came to my back, and hit me a big stone on my head. They made away with my face. That's my picture.”
