English defender, Ezri Konsa, expressed feeling "right at home from day one" following his remarkable debut at the Emirates Stadium for Arsenal. This came during their thrilling 2-1 comeback victory against London rivals Chelsea on Sunday. Konsa, who played alongside Gabriel in the central defence, showcased an impressive performance, engaging in 12 duels and emerging victorious in eight – a personal best in a Premier League fixture since December 2024.

The summer signing from Aston Villa also delivered a standout play, successfully dispossessing his former teammate and close friend, Morgan Rogers, during a Chelsea counter-attack attempt. This action drew a resounding cheer from the home supporters at the Emirates. Konsa, however, emphasized that their personal connection was set aside once the game commenced. He stated to Arsenal’s official website on Sunday, "‘[Rogers] is a good friend of mine, but on the pitch, it’s a different story. I saw the opportunity to go in and make the tackle, and it came off.’"

Speaking about his inaugural appearance, Konsa revealed his enjoyment of the event, especially experiencing his first London derby. He remarked, "‘I really enjoyed the occasion. My first London derby and I thought the fans were fantastic, superb. They stayed behind us throughout the whole game; without them, these games are impossible.’"

The Gunners initially trailed after Morgan Rogers netted an early goal, but they staged a comeback with strikes from Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard, securing their flawless start to the Premier League campaign. The PUNCH Online report also included mentions of manager Arteta's confidence in Arsenal surpassing last season's performance, a summary of African players' weekend exploits in Europe, and Ndiaye's statement on the irresistibility of a move to Man City.

Konsa further noted that the team’s reaction after conceding an early goal highlighted their strong character. He commented, "‘Conceding so early isn’t great, and I know we take a lot of pride here in keeping clean sheets, but I thought the reaction was second to none, it was fantastic. It just goes to show the character and the mentality of this team.’"

The 28-year-old revealed his rapid acclimatization to Arsenal since his arrival just a few weeks prior. "‘I felt right at home from day one,’" he remarked, adding, "‘The boys have been top, the staff have been top. Like I said before in previous interviews, this style really suits me – I love the boss’ way of playing. The amount of quality that we have and the amount of quality I have around me makes things easier.’"

Despite their impressive start to the season, Konsa cautioned that Arsenal must sustain their concentration. He stated, "‘I think it’s important you go into different games with confidence. We’ve started really well but it’s still early days. We’re going to take it game by game and day by day.’"

PUNCH Online had previously reported that Konsa made his initial debut last week, playing 11 minutes at Villa Park against his former club, Aston Villa, in Arsenal’s 1-0 victory.
