Joshua, Fury Bout Faces Uncertainty Over Venue Disagreement

A significant hurdle has emerged in the highly anticipated boxing match between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, as the two camps are yet to reach an agreement on the venue for the fight. According to Frank Warren, the promoter of Tyson Fury under the Queensberry banner, the bout, which is scheduled to take place in November, may be postponed if the issue is not resolved. Initially, Wembley Stadium was the preferred venue, but an issue with the proposed start time has led to Madison Square Garden in New York becoming a strong contender. This development has caused tension between the two camps, with Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn threatening to call off the fight if the venue is changed to New York without their agreement. Warren, however, remains optimistic that the fight will take place as planned, stating that Fury's contractual agreement differs from what Hearn's camp has claimed. 'Tyson Fury has his agreement, which states something different. The fight will happen,' Warren said. He explained that Fury had signed up for the contest in January, and a warm-up fight was initially planned for September before being postponed due to Joshua's personal issues. Both fighters have since participated in tune-up fights, with Fury defeating Mariusz Wach in Thailand and Joshua overcoming Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia. Despite the disagreement over the venue, Warren is confident that the fight will proceed, with November still being the target date. The unresolved issue has raised concerns that one of the biggest fights in British boxing history may be delayed.
