President Trump's Intervention Reverses Balogun's Red Card Decision

Reports indicate that US striker Folarin Balogun's red card punishment has been rescinded, a decision that reportedly followed a direct intervention from former American President Donald Trump. It was gathered that Trump personally contacted FIFA President Gianni Infantino to request a review of Balogun's sanction.
Confirming the reversal, Trump took to his Truth Social platform, stating, "Thank you to FIFA for doing what was right, and reversing a great injustice!"
However, this move by FIFA has drawn sharp criticism from Belgian football authorities. They issued a statement expressing their "astonishment" at the decision, which they described as being in "direct contradiction" with FIFA's established rules. The Royal Belgian Football Association announced its intention to "investigate all potential options" to "safeguard the legitimate rights of all participating teams and to protect the fundamental principles of fair play in our sport."
Adding to the outcry, Belgium coach Rudi Garcia sarcastically remarked during a press conference, "I didn't know that at the FIFA World Cup, the 5th of July is now the 1st of April, and that it's April Fool's Day," highlighting the unexpected nature of the reversal.
