Slovan Bratislava Appoints Yaya Toure as New Head Coach on Three-Year Deal

In a significant development, Slovan Bratislava, the renowned Slovakian football club, has announced the appointment of Yaya Toure as its new head coach. The 43-year-old football legend has signed a three-year contract with the club, marking his first stint as the head coach of a senior team. Expressing his excitement about the new role, Toure stated, 'I’m very happy and excited; honestly, I can’t wait for us to get to work together on Monday.' He further emphasized his passion for football, saying, 'Football is everything to me. I love challenges and am incredibly excited to coach a great club with a rich history, a beautiful stadium, and high ambitions.' Toure's coaching career has seen him work as an assistant at several clubs, including Olimpik Donetsk in Ukraine, Akhmat Grozny in Russia, Standard Liege in Belgium, and the Saudi Arabian national team, where he worked alongside Roberto Mancini. The appointment of Yaya Toure has been hailed by the club's chairman, Ivan Kmotrik Jr., who described it as the beginning of a new era for the 24-time Nike Liga winners. Kmotrik Jr. expressed his pleasure at securing Toure's services, saying, 'I am very pleased that Yaya Toure is our new head coach. I am glad we agreed on a three-year contract and that together, we will begin building a new era for Slovan Bratislava.' Toure replaces the popular manager Vladimir Weiss, who took over as Slovakia boss, after impressing the club's management with an outstanding video interview.
