Nigeria's Super Eagles Boosted by Iwobi, Chukwueze Arrivals in Lisbon

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have received a significant boost ahead of their highly anticipated friendly match against Portugal, as midfielder Alex Iwobi and winger Samuel Chukwueze have joined the team's training camp in Lisbon. Iwobi's arrival on Thursday marked a welcome return to the squad, having missed the team's recent friendly against Poland. His presence is expected to provide a much-needed lift to the team as they prepare to face Portugal. Meanwhile, Chukwueze, who had been absent from the team's recent international assignments due to the death and burial of his mother, reported to camp on Friday afternoon, bringing the total number of players in Lisbon to 22. The team's technical crew, led by head coach Éric Chelle, will be relieved to have the duo back in the fold as they fine-tune their preparations for the encounter against Portugal, scheduled to take place at the Estádio Municipal de Leiria next Wednesday. Defender Christian Akpan, who earned his first call-up to the Super Eagles, has also joined the team in Lisbon, and will be hoping to make his senior debut against Portugal. With the latest arrivals, the Super Eagles squad is now looking stronger and more formidable, and head coach Chelle is expected to use the match as an important test ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures.
