Accord's Olajengbesi Vows Over One Million Osun Votes for Tinubu in 2027

Pelumi Olajengbesi, who ran as the Accord Party candidate for the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will garner more than one million votes from Osun State in the forthcoming 2027 presidential elections. Olajengbesi made this declaration on Saturday, following a meeting he held with Seyi Tinubu, the President's son.

In a personal statement he issued, Olajengbesi, a legal practitioner and spokesperson for Governor Ademola Adeleke's re-election campaign in Osun State, highlighted that the recent political reconciliation efforts within the state, post-governorship election, have paved the way for effective mobilization of support for President Tinubu.

He was quoted saying, “With the reconciliation achieved in Osun State and the commitment expressed by Governor Ademola Adeleke towards President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our political objective is clear: to mobilise over one million votes for President Tinubu in Osun State in the next presidential election.”

Olajengbesi also lauded Seyi Tinubu for his unwavering advocacy for youth involvement in governance and commended his impartial stance during the last Osun governorship election.

He further stated, “Perhaps one of the most consequential bets young Nigerians have had around this administration is Seyi Tinubu. He has consistently chosen to engage with young people, strengthen the negotiating power of our generation, support aspirations, open doors, build relationships and invest in possibilities.”

Recall that Governor Adeleke, representing the Peoples Democratic Party, secured victory in the August governorship election with a total of 511,067 votes. His closest contender, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, polled 444,815 votes, while Najeem Salam of the African Democratic Congress received 17,180 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) data shows that Osun State has over 2.3 million registered voters, with approximately 1.9 million Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) already collected. Governor Adeleke had, shortly after his declaration as the winner by INEC, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting President Tinubu's re-election bid.
