Housing Minister Declares Katsina's Unwavering Support for Tinubu in 2027

Muttaqha Darma, who serves as the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, has expressed confidence that the electorate in Katsina State will cast their votes for President Bola Tinubu during the 2027 general elections. This assertion was made on Sunday by the Minister during the official launch of the Arewa for Asiwaju Group, or A4A, which took place in Katsina.

Darma also holds the position of chairman for the A4A Katsina State Coordination Committee, a group that has openly pledged its allegiance to President Tinubu in anticipation of the forthcoming 2027 polls. Elaborating on the group's purpose, Darma clarified that A4A was formed with the primary objective of galvanizing backing for the Tinubu administration and effectively disseminating information about its accomplishments and various initiatives to communities throughout the Northern region of Nigeria.

He quoted, saying, “This initiative was conceived by prominent Nigerians, including the National Security Adviser, former governors, ministers and former government officials.” The Minister further added that, “This group has the responsibility of coordinating and documenting the Federal Government’s projects and interventions across Northern Nigeria.”

Darma explained that a core objective of Arewa for Asiwaju is linked to an existing government department, specifically the Office for the Coordination of Northern Projects. He elaborated: “The major aim of Arewa for Aswajuru is that there is a government office called Office for the Coordination of Northern Projects of this government. So that office has the specific task of putting together what this government did to Northern Nigeria. Now that office also felt it wise that it’s not only to coordinate the activities of the government in Northern Nigeria, but to also pull out an organisation that will go to all parts of Northern Nigeria and mention to the people of Northern Nigeria what this government did to Northern Nigeria, and our votes only meant for him.”

He indicated that the group plans to extend its outreach efforts across various areas of the North, aiming to highlight what he termed the significant achievements of President Tinubu’s government. The Minister emphasized that the main reason for the gathering in Katsina was to officially inaugurate the state-level coordination committee, which is composed of distinguished individuals chosen from within the state.

Regarding the 2027 elections, Darma reiterated the unwavering dedication of the group’s members to supporting President Tinubu’s re-election bid. He firmly concluded, stating, “Our votes for Tinubu in 2027 are non-negotiable.”
