Ogun APC Unveils 2027 Campaign Team Led by Osoba, Daniel, Abiodun

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has announced its campaign council leadership for the forthcoming 2027 general elections, with prominent figures like former Governors Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun playing significant roles. Details of the campaign structure were made public on Tuesday through a document endorsed by the state party chairman, Yemi Sanusi, and shared with journalists.

Governor Dapo Abiodun has been designated as the Chairman of the APC Campaign Council. He will be joined by Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, who currently represents Ogun West and is the party's governorship candidate, serving as Co-chair. The role of Director-General for the campaign has been assigned to Senator Lekan Mustapha, a former Senator for Ogun East.

The council also features Chief Olusegun Osoba, a revered former governor and national leader of the party, as its Grand Patron. Former Governors Gbenga Daniel, who also serves as the Senator for Ogun East, and Ibikunle Amosun, have been named Deputy Grand Patrons.

The extensive 156-member campaign committee includes other key party stalwarts. The Deputy Governor, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, and the party’s Deputy Governorship candidate, Alhaja Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, are both appointed as Deputy Chairmen of the campaign team. Chief Yemi Sanusi, the state party chairman, will act as the Vice Chairman. Furthermore, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi, assumes the position of Vice Director-General for Campaign Operations, while Dr Kunle Salako, the Minister of State for Health, will serve as Vice Director-General for Administration.

In addition to these appointments, the APC also released official lists on Tuesday detailing members of various committees. These committees are tasked with spearheading the party's campaign and mobilisation efforts across all 20 local government areas of Ogun State.

Elaborating on the council's formation and duties, Mr. Sanusi stated that “The campaign council comprises party leaders, political stakeholders and other key members of the APC, who are expected to coordinate grassroots mobilisation, media and publicity, logistics, contact and mobilisation, youth and women engagement, as well as other critical aspects of the campaign.” He further explained that “The committees have been constituted to strengthen the party’s structures and ensure effective coordination of its activities ahead of the 2027 elections.”

Sanusi urged all committee members to collaborate effectively to secure a resounding victory for the APC across all electoral tiers in 2027, encompassing presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly elections. The party's statement highlighted that this unveiling of the campaign structure marks a crucial phase in its preparations for the 2027 polls, aligning with its intensified mobilisation and consolidation strategies throughout Ogun State.
