Wike Takes Blame for Abuja's Roaming Cow Menace

In a recent media briefing, Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, took responsibility for the lingering issue of cows roaming the streets of Abuja. Speaking on Friday, Wike acknowledged that despite efforts to improve the nation's capital, the problem of stray cattle persists. 'I apologise that up till now there are cows still roaming the streets of Abuja, I take responsibility,' he stated. However, the minister noted that the FCT administration has made significant strides in infrastructure development and service delivery across the territory, with projects extending beyond the city centre to satellite towns and rural communities. Wike urged residents to assess the administration's performance based on tangible projects rather than political sentiments, asking them to consider the impact of the government's efforts on their daily lives. 'If you are really a resident in Abuja, can you, in truth, say you don’t feel the impact of this government?' he queried. While acknowledging that the administration has not solved all the challenges facing the FCT, Wike expressed hope for the future, stating that the government is not claiming to have achieved 100% but is working towards improvement.
