Full Story

A Nigerian woman recently put forward the argument that a significant number of affluent men in the country lack attractiveness, primarily due to their perceived deficiency in personal character beyond their financial acumen. She further elaborated that an intense societal preoccupation with riches has taken root, leading Nigerians to frequently assess both themselves and their peers based solely on monetary wealth and social standing.

This societal tendency, she observed, manifests even in casual online discussions, where lighthearted exchanges can quickly escalate into personal attacks, with individuals resorting to disparaging others by highlighting their financial struggles or humble origins. The woman firmly contended that financial prosperity does not inherently bestow qualities such as being engaging, possessing good etiquette, or being agreeable company.

Emphasizing her point, she was quoted saying, "Money is not a mark, instead money is a revealer. After you get money finished, work on your person. Personality still matters a lot." She concluded by noting that while some might believe wealth can camouflage undesirable traits, the reality is that one must ultimately engage with the true character of the person, irrespective of their financial status.
