Phakel Umthakathi, SA Anti-Migrant Activist, Plans African Tour to Spur Accountability

Phakel Umthakathi, who leads a prominent anti-migration group in South Africa, has announced his intention to travel to various African nations. His declared aim is to galvanize African citizens to hold their respective governments accountable and contribute to building more prosperous nations, thereby negating the perceived necessity for migration to other African countries in pursuit of better opportunities.
During a press conference held on Thursday, July 2, Umthakathi addressed what he referred to as his ''African brothers''. He passionately stated, ''I am going to visit you, my brothers and sisters, in your countries to revive the spirit of Africa. You must fight for your country. If they k!ll you, they must k!ll all of you. You can't be scared of de@th.''
Umthakathi has been a central figure in the anti-immigrant campaign in South Africa, which has led to a significant number of undocumented African nationals, including Nigerians, departing the country. Reports indicate that over 800 Nigerian citizens have already fled South Africa in the wake of these anti-immigrant protests.
Local South Africans who harbor grievances often accuse foreign nationals, specifically Nigerians, of monopolizing job opportunities intended for them and introducing criminal elements into their communities.
