The controversy between popular media personality, Daddy Freeze, and Big Brother Naija star, Cross 'Da Boss' Okonkwo, has taken a dramatic turn. The feud, which started after Daddy Freeze criticized some high-profile clergymen who attended the Service of Songs for late actor, Alexx Ekubo, escalated on Sunday, June 14. Cross had ordered Daddy Freeze to stop his frequent attacks on Christian leaders, but the broadcaster refused to back down. Daddy Freeze had questioned the spiritual authority of gospel artist, Nathaniel Bassey, and Pastor Jerry Eze, who had noted during the service that they were scheduled to meet with Ekubo just a day before his tragic passing. He wondered why the clergymen failed to heal the actor while he battled the illness that ultimately claimed his life. In response, Cross blasted Daddy Freeze on social media, demanding that he remain silent unless he had positive remarks to make about Jesus Christ or religious leaders. However, Daddy Freeze has now issued a counter-challenge to Cross, promising to pay ₦50 million to him or any non-governmental organization of his choice if he can produce a single Nigerian pastor capable of healing a certified cripple in the manner of Jesus Christ. Daddy Freeze clarified that both he and his associate, Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, function strictly as 'scripture teachers' rather than miracle-working clergymen, exempting them from the challenge.
