Federal agents in the United States conducted a search on Monday at the Washington, D.C. residence belonging to Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. This action is part of an ongoing criminal inquiry, as reported by the New York Post and the Associated Press.

The Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations division executed the search, which was authorized by a court warrant, as confirmed by the Department of Justice. A spokesperson for the DOJ informed Fox News Digital, referencing the New York Post report published on Monday, October 12, 2026, that "Today in the Washington, D.C. area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice." The spokesperson further clarified that, "This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation."

According to the New York Post, the focus of this investigation is alleged fraudulent activity linked to the Democratic congresswoman's immigration documents. Despite this, the Justice Department has not yet released additional specifics regarding the probe in its public statements.

The Associated Press also corroborated that federal agents entered Omar's home on Monday morning as part of a criminal investigation, citing sources close to the situation. It noted that while the Justice Department confirmed the warrant's execution, no further case details were released.

Congresswoman Omar, aged 44, represents Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District, which encompasses Minneapolis. She secured her initial election to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018 and is recognized for her progressive political stance and her critiques of former President Donald Trump. The investigation is still active, and current reports do not indicate that Omar has faced any criminal charges related to this matter.
