The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has taken disciplinary action against 79 of its personnel for various infractions, including job racketeering, financial misconduct, and sabotage. According to the corps' Commandant-General, Ahmed Audi, represented by spokesperson Babawale Afolabi, 75 personnel have undergone disciplinary proceedings, while four others are currently under administrative review. The sanctioned personnel include senior and junior officers, with penalties ranging from dismissal to compulsory retirement, and in some cases, recommendations for criminal prosecution. In a separate development, NSCDC operatives have arrested 12 suspects in connection with pipeline vandalism, illegal firearms dealings, and other security-related offences. The suspects include six alleged pipeline vandals, two power infrastructure vandals, and six civilians implicated in illegal firearms transactions. The corps has also recovered a truck loaded with vandalised railway materials and is working to recover stolen electrical installations linked to the suspects. Audi emphasized the importance of upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct within the corps, stating that any personnel found wanting will be held accountable in accordance with the law and regulations governing the agency.
