NAF Air Component Delivers Devastating Blow to Borno Terrorist Stronghold

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) announced on Saturday a significant operational triumph achieved by its Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai. This success involved pinpoint air strikes that effectively dismantled a terrorist base located in Yaganari, within Borno State's Gezuwa general area. Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, who serves as the Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, confirmed that numerous terrorists were neutralised during this operation, which occurred on Friday.
Ejodame explained that the Air Component initiated intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions after receiving credible information about renewed terrorist activities and a concentration of fighters in the region. These missions successfully verified the existence of terrorist structures and critical logistics hubs. Following this confirmation, the identified targets were engaged through a series of precise strikes, resulting in the elimination of terrorist infrastructure and the neutralisation of several operatives.
He further highlighted that this successful operation underscores the increasing pressure being exerted on terrorist elements. Their ability to move freely and regroup is being severely curtailed by continuous air offensives.
Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), lauded the professionalism of the personnel involved in the operation. He reiterated the Nigerian Air Force's unwavering commitment to maintaining relentless offensive actions against all threats jeopardising national security.
The CAS affirmed, "The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge." He added, "We remain committed to ensuring that terrorists have no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities." Air Marshal Aneke emphasised that the Armed Forces of Nigeria are steadfastly progressing in consolidating the substantial gains already achieved in the ongoing campaign against terrorism.
