Kaduna Police Nab Six Suspects in Lynching of Two Falsely Accused Travellers

The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of six individuals implicated in the brutal killing of two male travellers, Aliyu Mohammed, aged 40, and Muhammadu Sani, aged 45. The tragic incident occurred on July 1, when the victims, who were on a motorcycle journey to Tundun Wada Zaria to visit their ailing uncle, were falsely accused of theft.
According to a police statement, as Mohammed and Sani rode through Gidan Kalu Village, certain unidentified persons raised an alarm, alleging they were thieves after noticing their new motorcycle. Panicked and fearing for their lives, the two men abandoned their vehicle and attempted to flee. However, an enraged mob pursued them relentlessly, eventually catching up and subjecting them to a violent attack that led to their deaths.
Upon receiving the report of the incident, operatives from the Birnin Yero police division promptly initiated action. Their efforts led to the arrest of Abdullahi Mukailu Kigo and five other suspects. All arrested individuals have reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crime and are currently in police custody. Investigations are actively ongoing to identify and apprehend any other persons who participated in the unlawful killing of the two innocent travellers.
