Lagos State Police Command operatives have apprehended a 21-year-old individual, Samson Onilewaji, following a routine stop-and-search operation along the busy Lekki-Epe Expressway. The arrest occurred after officers discovered human body parts, various firearms, and items suspected to be stolen in his possession.

According to Ms. Abimbola Adebisi, the spokesperson for the command, Mr. Onilewaji was traveling in an unregistered commercial shuttle bus, which was carrying a total of six passengers, when it was flagged down by the police. A comprehensive search of both the vehicle and its occupants yielded significant findings directly linked to the suspect.

Among the items recovered from Samson Onilewaji were a suspected human right hand, two locally fabricated pistols, one live cartridge, two axes, a Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal, and five Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards. The police command confirmed these findings in an official statement released on Friday, June 26, detailing the items found in the possession of the 21-year-old male suspect.

Further interrogation revealed that Mr. Onilewaji confessed to having recently committed robbery against three separate individuals. He admitted to dispossessing them of their personal effects, including the POS terminal and the ATM cards that were subsequently recovered during his arrest.

Ms. Adebisi elaborated that the police are actively working to identify and establish contact with the victims of these robberies to facilitate the return of their recovered belongings. Concurrently, a thorough investigation is underway to determine the identity of the individual from whom the suspected human hand was obtained, the exact circumstances leading to its possession by the suspect, and the ultimate purpose for which it was intended.
